Fabric Line
Scandinavian Winter
We are very excited to partner with Clothworks to introduce our very first fabric line – Scandinavian Winter. It includes so many of the things that I love – Nordic animals, hazy mountains reflected in an alpine lake, aspens and evergreens, colorful Scandinavian patterns, and snowflakes. The snowflakes in our designs are based on photographs of actual snowflakes and I was inspired by this poem from Charles Ghigna.
Life is a snowflake, a free-falling star, a fragile reminder of all that we are.
Born of a raindrop, laced by the breeze, spinning through space, dancing through trees.
A diamond of light, a gem in the sun, a journey of hope, a new life begun.
I put together my very first Look Book – It shows all the fabrics and our new patterns in a little ‘digital magazine’ of sorts.
We hope you have fun using our designs to create projects for people that you love!
If you are a quilt store you can pre-order the collection now by sending an email to orders@clothworks.com or by visiting our page on the Clothworks website.
If you are a consumer and would like to have your quilt store carry the collection – please send them a link to our page and the link to our Look Book. The fabric collection should be shipping to quilt stores in August.
Patterns
Nine new patterns coming in August to go with the Scandinavian Fabric Collection – they will be available then on our website and hopefully in your neighborhood quilt store.
Arctic Comforters
This quick and easy comforter uses the Hazy Mountains panel from the Scandinavian Winter fabric collection – the directions are for a twin size comforter. Ideas are included to turn it into a comforter to fit a queen size bed and a king size bed.
Nordic Ribbons
This quilt used the Fair Isle Animals panel and the Ice Crystals panel from the Scandinavian Winter fabric collection. It goes together quicker than you might think as it uses the strip quilting technique. You can also get creative and move the blocks around.
Scandinavian Splendor
There are so many different fabric combinations you can use to put together the quilt as you go comforter. You can use up to six of the Fair Isle animals or snowflake panels … or you can just choose to mix and match the different fabrics. Would love to see what you design! Submit your project to be shown in our gallery.
Nordic Tracks
This quilt uses the quilt as you go method – once you finish each of the block you just sew all the blocks together with sashing and then add the applique and the back. It uses the Hazy Mountains panel from the Scandinavian Winter fabric collection and two to five of your favorite prints.
Scandinavian Lattice
This quilt goes together really quickly as well – just put borders around the animals and the snowflakes and the rest of the top uses the strip quilting technique. It uses all the animals in the Fair Isle animal panel and all the snowflakes in the Ice Crystals panel and then your two favorite coordinating prints.
Scandinavian Building Blocks
This is one of our most popular patterns. You use the sew and flip method on each of the 15”’ x 15” squares and then sew the squares together with sashing. This one uses the Fair Isle animals panel as well as the Ice Crystals panel.
Arctic Arrows
This pattern uses more traditional quilting techniques and can be made from just three fabrics or up to six different fabrics. It also includes the Fair Isle animal appliques.
Chilled Chevrons
This pattern also uses more traditional quilting techniques – Just pick your four favoriate fabrics and whip together a quilt for someone you love.
Cross Stitch
This pattern uses traditional quilting techniques as well and goes together quickly – just pick your favorite fabrics and jump right in.
